A young mother with mobility issues, in Maynard, wanted to add a half bath on her first floor to avoid going up and down her stairs all day. She also wanted to improve the flow of her house by opening-up the kitchen to the living room. A new kitchen extends the cabinets all the way to the ceiling, grabbing extra storage. Diagonal flooring, an exposed wood beam, glass uppers, a green granite counter and a dynamic color scheme contrast with the simple white cabinets. A tiled mudroom area with an inset border, leads to a door with a transom and a half bath with a console sink.
